My name is Rona Younos. I am very pleased to announce that I
have completed almost 1,500 hours of diagnostic and theory classes at the
nationally accredited school Tai Sophia Institute. I am ready and very excited
to begin practicing acupuncture under the board-certified licenses and
supervision of experienced faculty acupuncture practitioners. I also studied
Traditional Chinese Medicine for 3 additional years at the Phoenix Institute of
Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture, in Phoenix, Arizona.
About Accupuncture
Acupuncture is
a medical practice. It originated in China several thousand years ago and is
one of the oldest forms of medicine still widely practiced today. Acupuncture
is the primary health care system for one third of the world’s population and
is rapidly becoming widely accepted in the United States as an effective and
reliable medical system.
The World Health
Organization and The National Institutes of Health now recognizes acupuncture
as an effective treatment for many conditions. Some of the ailments that
acupuncture has been proven to treat through controlled studied trials are:
addictions, adverse reactions to chemotherapy and/or radiation, allergies,
anxiety, arthritis, back pain, dental pain, depression, diabetes,
gastrointestinal disorders, headaches, hypertension, insomnia, joint pain, knee
pain, memory loss, menstrual disorders, nausea, neck pain, postoperative pain,
and sciatica.
Acupuncture is
a gentle, safe, and powerful form of healing, which combines both art and
science. Hair thin sterile needles are inserted into the body at very precise
points to activate the body’s own healing ability. Acupuncture is helpful even
when the causes of the conditions are difficult to identify. It can bring ease
to whatever “dis-ease” one is experiencing. Most patients report that their
symptoms improve with treatment.
Acupuncture is
also potent as a preventative medicine. People who choose to receive ongoing
acupuncture treatments report getting sick less often, and recover more quickly
when they do get sick. They see their physicians less, reducing the cost of
long-term healthcare. They have improved stamina and vitality and are better
able to manage their own health and wellness.
